China Country Profile is a Web site which analyzes key dimensions in China's recent development.
In particular, you will find information on China's ...

1. Human development

2. Natural resources & environment

3. Economic development

4. Infrastructure

5. Science and technology

6. Policy and social structure

The China Country Profile Web site currently provides a small research section with data-related analyses (including tables, figures, animations, and maps), a timeline of key events in China since 1949, a collection of high-quality Web links and an extensive bibliography on contemporary China studies (with more than 900 carefully selected references). In the near future additional research sections will be added and the existing sections will be expanded substantially.

In addition, the site has a resources section with links to recommended books, video and movie documentaries on DVD or VHS, travel guides and travel maps, a selection of fine arts books (paintings, sculpture, archeology, calligraphy, jade, antique furniture) and guides for doing business in China (concerning business negotiations, business etiquette, stock market, etc.).

The China Country Profile Web site is researched, designed, implemented and maintained by

For convenience, the China-related resources on this web site are linked to Amazon.com. This generates a (small) amount of referral fees. If you order books or other products through this web site you directly support "Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières" (MSF), because I am donating all income from this web site to MSF, an independent humanitarian organization which provides emergency medical assistance in places where conditions are the worst. Founded in 1971, MSF was awarded the 1999 Nobel Peace Price. You can contact MSF by clicking the icon below.
