Index of Economic Freedom, 2008 - Selected Countries (The Heritage Foundation; The Wall Street Journal)

Economic Freedom Index, 2008

Source: Holmes, Kim R. / Feulner, Edwin J. / O'Grady, Mary Anastasia et al. (2008): 2008 Index of Economic Freedom. The Heritage Foundation. The Wall Street Journal. ISBN: 978-0-89195-276-3
Note: Data downloaded from: http://www.heritage.org/index/ on May 15, 2008

This index of economic freedom from the Heritage Foundation and the Wall Street Journal also places China behind India, but ahead of Russia. Surprisingly, Pakistan's and Tanzania's economic freedem are ranked higher than China's or India's. Both China and India are ranked much lower in economic freedom than typical European countries and, of course, the United States of America.

Comment: It is interesting to compare the index of economic freedom from different sources, such as the Fraser Institute and the Heritage Foundation. See: Link
