Internet Users per 100,000 of the Population, 2001

Source: Ministry of Information Industry, 2001. Data downloaded from web site: www.mii.gov.cn/mii/hyzw/tjxx.html; Own calculations
Note: This thematic map was produced with the RAPS-China tool.

The discrepancies in Internet access within China are enormous: While Beijing reported almost 15,000 Internet users per 100,000 of the population (15%), Guizhou had only 460 Internet users per 100,000 of the population. Please note, however, that Internet access has spread rapidly in recent years.
