Actual Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) are typically much smaller than planned FDIs. In 2004, 43,664 FDI projects were stipulated at a total investment of 153 billion US$ - but only projects for US$ 61 were actually implemented. However, with a total cumulative FDI of 560 billion US$ between 1989 and 2004, China is still one of the largest recipients of outside investment. |
