Average life expectancy at birth in 2004 as compared to all other countries worldwide

Note: Data indicate average life expectancy at birth with estimated range of uncertainty.

China has reached a high level of average life expectancy, as compared with other developing countries.

Remarkably, the World Health Organization has also attributed a very low level of uncertainty to China's life expectancy estimate. Given the great diversity of living conditions in China, one might be a little skeptical about the validity of this low error margin.
