Introduction of China's strict "One-Child" family planning program at provincial level, in 1980 at national level.

 

1979

 

In 1979 several provinces start explicit "One-Child" family planning initiatives. However, at a national level, China's "One-Child" policy begins in 1980, when the Central Committee is sending an open letter to all members of the China Communist Party and the Communist Youth League, in which the policy is officially adopted
