The too "liberal" General Secretary of China's Communist Party, Hu Yaobang, is forced to resign

Hu Yaobang tried to rehabilitate the people who were persecuted during the Cultural Revolution. He was forced to resign by Deng Xiaoping, because he had failed to control the student demonstrations in 1986.
